Founded and built Barcelona's largest last-mile delivery operation (30 → 1,000 parcels/day for Amazon, now a TIPSA agent). In parallel, designed and manufactured the world's first autonomous, solar-powered smart locker — hardware (PCB), firmware (Nerves), and platform (Phoenix/Ash) all developed in-house.

Interim Country CTO / VP Engineering
First employee in Spain for this Italian car insurance company. Hired the entire Spanish engineering team, integrated Italian developers, and launched the product in ten months.
Mipasa
CTO
Joined to tackle an unmaintainable Java microservices architecture. Trained a small team in Elixir and built a prototype that the CEO deemed superior to production within six weeks. Switched to using the prototype in production, then hired 15 developers to scale the team.
The Book of Everyone
CTO
Rebuilt the entire platform from a legacy PHP framework through Laravel to Elixir/Phoenix using the strangler pattern. The system combined 150,000+ artistic assets into 50-page personalised books. Took throughput from ~13 books/day to 3,000+/day with no performance spikes.
Shopa

Co-founded and built a social commerce platform, transitioning from the Microsoft ecosystem to Ruby on Rails for speed and cost. Introduced Go in 2013 for performance-critical workloads. Raised one of the UK's largest Series A rounds.

Six years at this major Lloyd's of London underwriter. Started as a developer, moved into running change management (bridging developers, DBAs, and infrastructure), then was recruited directly into the actuarial and underwriting teams as a technology consultant. Pioneered PowerShell-based CI/CD automation across a Microsoft shop that had previously relied on manual, mouse-driven deployments.

Foreign exchange company transitioning from Visual Basic to .NET. Trained team members and introduced good practices for running a small, effective software team.

Joined on the tech side but quickly identified the core problem was the business, not the technology. Took over as CEO and led a turnaround: reduced burn rate from €130k/month to €45k/month, extending runway and giving the company a path to succeed. Professional development platform for doctors and nurses.
Notion Capital
Technology Consultant
Worked with Notion Capital (an investor in Shopa) on portfolio company consulting and technology due diligence. Assessed the technology of potential investments and provided hands-on IT support to portfolio companies. This work led to The Book of Everyone in Barcelona.

Founded the Elixir Barcelona meetup in 2015. Hosted notable speakers including José Valim. Helped organise an after-party and sponsorship for ElixirConf EU when it was held in Barcelona.
London .NET User Group
Member → Organiser
Active member from 2001, becoming an organiser and running monthly meetings. Through the user group, helped organise the Developer Developer Developer (DDD) conference at Microsoft's headquarters in Reading. Gave talks on agile practices, team building, and software methodologies.
